WANTING more, WANTING less, WANTING what?

Visit Write Brain Challenge to check out my latest free write piece, and the photo that inspired it. Thanks, Jenny.

What I want is WORLD PEACE.

Do you ever get discouraged with your lack of Super Powers?

Well, I do.

I realize there’s only so much I can do for this planet.

So, I’ll settle for wanting GRASS.

My front GRASS has been laid.

GRASS
And… new sidewalk.

Yup, laid….(go ahead think what you will) and it was a good lay job too - it looks really nice. (I really don’t like the word nice… it's so, you know, nice.

But, I’m having a beer (which was written ‘pear’ then ‘bear’ before it got to beer - cheap date) therefore the vocab list is, you know, maybe grade sevenish… or six.

Hmmm, I know some really smart grade sixers. (which was written grade sizers) Oh yeah, me’sa rolling right along!

SPEAKING OF WANTINGS…

Okay, the sweet and adorable Ivy, from THE HAPPY WHISK, got a toy, this really cool tablet thingy that she writes these really funky notes on.

I wanted one… so, I got one! Well, sorta!

Clever, huh! Now I’m going to be cool too!

Maybe not as cool as a cucumber… more like the iceberg that sunk the Titanic - which, in hindsight (gotta love 20/20 eh, Bushman) is not that cool.

Well, okay, the water was freezing and all - so, yeah, okay, cool!

EVEN MORE WANTINGS… by Mother.

I read my free writes to Mother - yes, a captive audience. (I know what you’re thinking - elder abuse.)

Anyhow, Mommy Dearest loves her babykin’s ramblings.

But… and this is rather a serious problem, for Mother anyways, she’s not happy with how I end almost every story with a cliff hanger of sorts.

She’s insisting I write another 15 minutes to explain myself. (Not happening - nope, and don’t ask again I said, firmly.

Like explaining myself would ever help anything. (Really, the disillusioned that walk amongst us.)

Good Grief Charlie Brown, who does she think I am… Lucy.

Speaking of Lucy… doesn’t Miss Lucyfur look cute.

Miss Lucky Lucky Pow Pow aka Miss Lucyfur.
Isn't she good looking for being 98 in dog years?
I KNOW WHAT LUCKY WANTS - TREATS!

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Cheers, Jenny

  1. Another 15 minutes, please. LOL If she had it her way you would be writing a new novel every day.
Lucy is adorable. She looks so soft.
The grass? You can't beat some good grass. I hear California grows some of the best...wait...what? Oh, turf? Nevermind.

    1. Showering this morning I thought about what it must be like being a full-time writer churning out novel after novel, is that when it becomes work?

So far I'm playing at my writing, though as of late with this goal of mine, I feel a sense of responsibility to it - meeting it, exceeding it; actually reaching it at year's end. Mother's interest does spur me on, so does yours and Barbs, it's encouraging having a wee bit of a readership. (thanks lots)

Yes, my little Lucy is soft. She's never been a cuddler (do you know that's not a word, but I wanted it so I'm using it) but as of late, I think because of hearing and sight loss, she's taking to snuggling in close… but only for 5 minutes. hahaha

Speaking of grass - I hear it has medicinal value to it… I can't wait to bury my nose in it come the sunny days. :P

    2. Our winter is quite mild right now - rain, rain, rain. Grass survives it all!

Yes, 'lieblings muttie' (that made me smile) is stoking my writing fires with her interest - good muttie, eh!

Wow, Bob was almost 22 - what kind of doggie was he?

    3. he wasn't of any special breed, but he looked as if he was conceived when a golden retriever had sex with a dwarf dog :)

  3. "Isn't it great to brag about getting laid"...said one blade to the other. Haha, I couldn't resist! Grass looks great and now you can let Lucyfur out to pee on it and make yellow spot patterns all over...Lol.

I want to see my beautiful girls soon. They are growing too fast and the teenage years are here so I want to spoil them before they think I'm boring!

    1. If only you could hear me cracking up over here - that was too funny! (visions of you and me watching the turf grow over a tall summer drink… sharing stories, hahahaha - could be a novel in the making)

I'm doing my best to direct Miss Lucy over to the boulevard - it's hit and miss - she thinks the grass is all hers.

Your want is justified… I hope you help make it happen. Do you have any plans to visit them, or have them visit you?

    2. I think I like your idea of a novel in the making...what a blast we would have! I hope to have the girls fly down this summer. It was so much fun last year. Cost me a fortune I didn't have but they're worth it. Also, I'm going to NJ for my nieces wedding so I hope to get up to CT while I'm up that far. Even if only for a day or two. Any time with them is a gift.

  4. Oh my gosh, thanks bunches for this. So great. I've got a big fat smile on my face and this is just too great.

Love the pup photo. Also too cute!

Mine are passed out in the Lemon Tart Room. I think I hear one snoring.

    2. If you're smiling than so am I! :) :) :) see!

I couldn't resist - I was doing some paperwork and I like to highlight things, it just spiralled from there - crazy, eh!

I'd like to pass out ON the Lemon Tart… if that's be okay with you! :) :)

Nothing like having an inside joke… next sheet will be one of those legal papers, made for ramblers.

  5. The grass must have enjoyed the good lay job i know I do:) (sorry the devil made me write that). Mom loves to have things all wrapped up and tidy but she loves your writings. The doggie is so cute and needs a cookie or 2. I am calling my hubby now since I thinking about your grass and how happy it looks

Yes… the grass look happy - I hope you'll have the same 'glow' too when hubby's done watering you! hahahahhahaha (we're such sick puppies!)

    1. Geez, now there's a super power!
Only, regarding Mrs. P's screams… is that a "Go Honey, you can do it" scream while you use this super power, or is it the "No, it can't be over yet" scream… one of disappointment with the speed of it all! :P :P

    1. Hi Andrea - I'm with you on the hot fudge sundae. It shouldn't be a want, it should be a necessity. I'm happy with the grass and sidewalk too!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit. :) :)

  8. I want a pear. Uh, I mean bear. Uh, beer. (Though I did just have a pear beer that was awesome)

That's a beautiful dog regardless of dog years. You know, in dog years we'd both be dead?

    1. That's funny that you'd had a pear beer - I had one once and quite liked it.

Yup, Lucky is the best (of course you'd say that too about your kitty cats) and who even came up with all this dog year business. A year is a year… although I do say I look pretty good for 392! hahahaha

    1. Hi Lee - you've been doing a lot of "free-writing" over on Twitter these last few days promoting the A-Z, you should seriously be paid for that too!

I think I'll have to throw together a little A-Z promo post to get in the groove and show my support. I'm doing it this year after missing it, due to my epic renovations, last year.

Cheers, Jenny (thanks for the visit - always great seeing you here)

    2. Yay! That sounds great! We can always use promotions. If you have any extra time on your hands and would like to do additional promo I have an open spot on my team of A to Z Ambassadors. If you'd be interested in that please let me know. Of course, I'll understand if you can't.

  10. We* Love Lucy.... and before you ask that was very much before my time, being in the UK we used to get your cast off's about 20 years after you had finished with them. This is odd as it makes the US seem like an older sibling passing down old clothes. Perhaps it is that the UK is so old we has gone into the second child hood stage. Living next to Europe does give a feeling that we are in a retirement home overlooking the worst part of town.

    * Not sure who the "we" is (I guess it could be McG at a pinch but to be honest he has never been a fan of other animals**. It could be Mrs B but she is out at the moment)

** Except Wordy, who he adored and would follow around when he was a kitten. Sadly Wordy vanished fairly early in McG's life - driven mad no doubt by being constantly tailed by a huge ginger kitten. We*** believe this trauma caused McG to suffer with abandonment issues, leading to his belief that he is 55% dog**** 40% human and only 5% cat.

*** This "we" is certain Mrs B and myself

**** If Wordy had been a dog this would make a bit more sense, only he was very much a cat

    1. I laughed with this comment - it's great! I think pets are the best - and people who love them are even bester! hahahaha My Lucky and your McG would agree with me. They must know how cherished they are.

Nice to see you out and about in the Blogosphere! Cheers!
