LOCKED OUT - flat tire - SIMPLER TIMES

Visit Write Brain Challenge to check out my latest free write piece, and the photo that inspired it. Thanks, Jenny.

☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀

Yesterday…

I LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY STUDIO. Yup, I did.

Googled "Locked Out"
Look - it's me!

Today…

I GOT A FLAT TIRE Yup, I did.

Googled "Flat Tire"
No real incentive to get out and change that tire, eh!

And right now…

I FINISHED MY DAILY FREE WRITE. Yup, I did.

The Simpler Times

Ah… the SIMPLER TIMES.

Remember them…

REMIND ME, WHAT WERE THEY AGAIN?

Cheers, Jenny

  1. 1. I've missed you. (reading blogs had to move to the back burner for a few months)
    2. Your last few posts had me in stitches. This one got a giggle at seeing the lions so interested in the jeep.
    3. How many times have you locked yourself out in total? Once is Enough..... hey that would make a great title for a book... wink, wink.
    4. Simpler times, like washing the sheets by the side of the Fraser River with a scrub board?
    5. You will meet a tall dark stranger who .........
and last but not least you owe me a quarter!

    1. Missed you too, Carole - but I can understand you've been busy with so many other exciting things. How are those grand-babes? Growing fast, I bet!

I'm glad I had you in stitches - humour is a great youth elixir too!

I've only locked myself out once (this being the first) from my studio. Not sure if there's a message in that, but hey… Yay, Once is Enough opens up a host of ideas for a book - hahaha

I think washing sheets in the Fraser would be for naught - they'd come out dirtier.

So… a prediction - you best be right… surely then you'll see that quarter!

It's so good to see you out and about, Carole - thinking of you lots. We really need to set a time aside for tea. Your place or mine… sometime in 2015. Or, should we be booking for 2016… hahahaha

  2. Oh no, good gosh. Locked out and a flat. Yikes. Hope when you got back inside that you at least had something yummy to eat.

    1. I had a few stronger expletives!

I locked myself out of my work studio - fortunately it was on a day when I was going up to prep my space for the following day.

The flat tire prevented me from getting to that "following day" and I had to cancel my clients.

The something yummy I ate, after my eventful day with the tire, was my crock pot roast - indeed yummy! The beer chaser didn't hurt either. :)

  3. A flat tire sucks especially if big animals that can eat you are around the car:) I have locked my keys in the car...twice. What a way to end that you finished your free write-good for you!!

    1. Go me!! I was so proud of myself for granting myself TIME to get my free write done. Yes, other things were pressing for some of that time but I knew they could wait.

Ouch - twice you've locked your keys in your car - that sucks! Did you have to wait long to be rescued?

    2. The first time-sunny day, nice and warm-waited 5 min. The second time-it was blustery and -15 C-waited over an hour-waaaah

    3. This happened on a wet cold day but my wait was only about 15 minutes - thank goodness too, it was one of those days where I hadn't added enough layers and I felt the chill. Lesson Learned!

At least you didn't lock yourself IN your car. Now that would be something Penwasser would do.

    1. Yeah… just for you!

The good thing about the studio incident is I was leaving anyway and have a spare set of keys at home.

Hahahaha - hey Al, I'm laughing with your not at you! (fingers crossed) :) :P

I've had those kind of days. When I was a YA, I locked my keys in my running car and was not able to get into the house to get my spare keys. And, oh yeah, it was wintertime! LOL.

    1. That is worthy of a post! hahaha Yup, I think most of us have done the car or house thing somewhere along the way.

I was lucky it was my work studio, and I was leaving so it wasn't too bad - I had a spare set of keys at home.

  8. I locked myself out of the house one day and it was pouring rain. Wife was at work, I had toddler in the car, needed sippie cup, not a good combo. I noticed an open window in kitchen over my head, propped a board, attempted to walk up said board, slipped and landed right on my pride. Toddler amused and I went to buy a sippie cup.
