J is for JUMPING FOR JOY - ask for what YOU want.

☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀

Welcome to Pearson Report.
I am participating in the 2015 A to Z Challenge.

Yes, I will be adhering to my THEME Calendar.

☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀

I screamed, you screamed, we all screamed for ice cream. (Drizzled with some sort of adult libation in my case.

I couldn’t IGNORE my responsibilities any longer and did some serious visiting yesterday! I’m surrounded by such talented bloggers. (Must be my influence, or my charm, could be both!) Your A to Z posts are amazing and entertaining. Keep up the good work!

OKAY… HERE WE GO…

Today I’m talking about ASKING FOR WHAT YOU WANT.

There’s a saying…

Ask for what you want in life. Chances are you’ll get some of what you ask for.
Ask for nothing and you will always get what you ask for.

So - I asked, and this is what I got.

My new baby - the iPhone6

It seems my 20 years of loyalty is worth something after all. My begging and pleading probably didn't hurt. I threw in the offer of my first born, but that wasn’t necessary. My continued loyalty and only one kidney, the one without stones, seemed to suffice.

Anyway… 2 years (with ball and chain) and no increase to my monthly plan (just to my blood pressure), only a little extra for the phone, a very little extra, given these bloody toys are a small fortune, and I was good to go. (To the clinic for a kidney transplant and a blood transfusion.)

And drum roll please. I got the same great deal for my first born, the one they wouldn't take! Seems they'd rather have her on the same donor program.

Needless to say… I am JUMPING FOR JOY! Well, I am actually Jumping For Jenny! Joy can do her own jumping. It’s enough I should do mine.

Is there anything that's got you JUMPING FOR JOY?

A new toy perhaps? A divorce? Marriage proposal? Clean undies what? There must be something!

Cheers, Jenny

    1. Great things to be jumping for! Yum to asparagus - a favourite around my house, having it his weekend, Miss CP's birthday dinner on Sunday - Rack of Pork, Austrian style with all the trimmings. Can't wait - that's worth jumping for too. :)

I am jumping for joy at the spring weather. Sunshine, sixties, and my tulips are starting to bloom. Yay!

    1. Isn't it though - I pick it up in a couple of hours, when the cell phone store opens. I'm very excited.

Your jumping for some pretty wonderful things, Linda - I'll jump along. :):) xo

  3. Reminds me (what doesn't?)...
It was Christmas Eve and everyone was feeling merry.
    But Mary had to leave.
    Then they jumped for joy.
But, she had to go, too.

    1. Oh all… I was hoping poor Joy's past wouldn't be dragged through my post! hahahaha And, Mary was so contrary...

  4. If I jumped for joy I'd probably break myself, or land on the cat and break us both. So my commando self will stay on the ground lol

    1. LOL There's a visual - wily cat and you all broke up - I'd be there in a minute with my crazy glue. Then you'd both be right as rain. (I wonder where that expression came from, is rain ever right?) Regular glue wouldn't do… definitely have to be crazy glue. I'd get Al over to help with making sure you each got your own parts… lol

  5. Haha, congrats on the phone!! I am jumping for joy--no, wait, for Anne Marie!--that spring is here and for the new novel idea that is starting to develop!

    1. I'm glad you'll be jumping for Anne Marie - and for such a wonderful thing as a new novel idea. Now that's definitely worth jumping for… I'm jumping for you too. You're full of great adventures, I look forward to seeing where these ideas take you, and your writing. Hugs, xo

    1. Luckily I'm familiar with the iPhone4s so the transition should (should!) be seamless. Ah, nothing is seamless… I know I'll be scratching my head and cussing a wee bit. :) :)

Any day of the weekend is worth jumping for - even though I work today (Sat) I'm jumping too - I love my job! Enjoy your Saturday! xo

  7. Thanks for the shout out, Jenny! I have a sister named Joy, but I'm not jumping for her. I guess there have been a few times when she provoked me into wanting to jump out of a window or throw her out. We get along pretty well most of the time though--living 3000 miles apart doesn't hurt I guess.

    1. hahahahaha - ah, the love of our siblings! It ebbs and flows, and sometimes there's that unforeseen waterfall or wild rapids on the river that needs navigating. A good drowning comes to mind! LOL

Thanks for stopping in Lee - I know you're a busy man, visiting and all - I appreciate it! With smiles, Jenny

  8. Aha! That's a cool phone!! I'd be jumping with joy, if I could lay my hands on this new toy too, but since that's not happening. I'd rather jump with joy for the weekend that looks very entertaining and relaxing :)

    1. Hi Shilpa - so nice to see you this fine sunny Saturday - well, it's sunny-ish in my neck of the woods… rain is working hard at getting the upper hand.

As to the phone - yes, cool! I'm jumping alright, but my previous phone was still good, short of my toilet fiasco. That's what prompted getting a new one.

Your weekend sound like it's going to be awesome! Enjoy it. Smiles, xo

    1. I jumped for joy when Courtney's graduation came along. Mostly, I hated school politics. She has a rewarding career and that makes me happy.

I know you'll be wearing the same happy face when Kiddo is out that school door for the last time. Happy weekend Ruth, I hope it's relaxing. Hugs, xo

    2. Kiddo has come a long way. Like you, I hated/hate how the school operates. When one teacher has them watch The Smurfs as a good example of Communism and another teacher has them watch The Lorax in Econ class, I can only shake my head and say to myself " It's almost over".

  10. I bet you are enjoying it! Mine died a premature age last month and I got the 6 as well. It's amazing what it will do.
They wouldn't take your first born? Bummer.
I'm jumping for joy that I survived release week.

    1. Mine too! Well, not completely died - having minor strokes after it fell in the toilet! Yeah! I really wasn't planning on getting a new one quite yet, though my contract was up so all in all the timing worked.

I actually pick it up today, so it's not in my sweaty little mitts yet! I did go into the Apple store, near me, and got the lowdown on it though. So, hopefully the learning curve isn't too bad.

Yeah, what a bummer first borns have lost their bargaining powers! No longer a good trade I guess. LOL

I'm tickled you've survived your release week - though the euphoria must be wonderful. Enjoy your weekend Alex, you deserve it. :) :)

  11. Hi Jenny - how lucky .. I upgraded but did it a little too early .. still I'm happy now ... sometime soon! Sometimes life just gives us those happy times .. Spring coming, a new hip, asparagus and rhubarb here .. and longer days ...

Cheers - lots to be happy for .. Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary - this whole upgrade game sure made me crazy. I don't know which was worse, the pain of a kidney stone or the pain of dealing with the Loyalty Department of my carrier.

Yes, Spring is in the air - though yesterday it seemed like winter, it got so cold.
How is that new hip of yours doing? Is it behaving? Yum to the asparagus, particularly white, and rhubarb is a family favourite. Longer days are a highlight too.

I hope your part of the planet is shining happily on you! Hugs and love xxoo

  12. Who doesn't love a new phone? I got the Samsung, but the iPhone and Samsung both are pretty comparable. I just can't stand iTunes.

The kind of toys I jump for joy over go vroom vroom, and I always feel especially motivated after hours of cussing, banging my knuckles, and getting covered in grease pay off and I add something fun to either my car or the wife's car... and nothing explodes as a result.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Ah… I think I could say I now hate the "new phone game" - but, I do love my new phone. LOL I actually thought about switching to Samsung - but I'm Apple everywhere else, so is my daughter… in the end it just made sense to stick with the iPhone.

If I could have a toy with wheels it would be a Harley Sportster - I love bikes, rode one in my twenties - still think about getting one. Ahhh, dreams!

It's great to be a grease monkey - saves a ton on money… if nothing explodes! LOL

Thanks for stopping by! Cheers, Jenny :)

Strange, I got one of those today!
There were so many papers to sign.
The sales rep said, "It's like buying a house!"

    1. Yeah, what's with all that documentation - so much for a paperless world. I'm a pill when it comes to papers though - I actually what to know what I'm signing. I know a lady was waiting, but hey, I'm not rushing to put my signature anywhere I haven't first read.

Congrats on your purchase! I hope you enjoy your new phone! Hugs, xo

    1. You're right about this being a "better than ever" year. I've met some really awesome bloggers (you're in that mix) and I'm finding some pretty interesting blogs as well.

I'm not laughing about the downgrade - don't think I didn't entertain the idea. I'm not that popular and don't need to be on the internet 24/7, however, since my daughter's plan was also up for renewal it just made sense we both get similar stuff because that's the one person I do talk to lots.

Thanks for dropping in! Always fun when I see you're in my comments. Hugs, xo

  18. That's great, it's amazing what you can get when you ask, isn't it?

I'm still celebrating the fact that I convinced my husband that we should get a new car. It's costing us a bit of money now, but it's a lot less than we have been spending on the new one, and we did get a bit off by asking what the best deal they could do us on it was. ;-)

A new car - wow! How much fun is that! I purchased a new car two years ago, not a day goes by that I don't smile when I get in it. I wish you equal felicity with yours. Happy driving!

Thanks for stopping by - I enjoyed your comment. Cheers, Jenny :) :)
