WINNING A LOTTERY

Have you ever wondered what the fascination is with winning a lottery?

Particularly one that is about money?

People ask each other, "What would you do with 10 million dollars?"

So, what would you do?

When you put some really deep thinking into this question it is not that easy to answer.

Now I'll ask you another question.

What is your first thought upon rising and facing a new day?

Do you feel miserable and discouraged that you have to face yet another day?

Or, do you bound out of bed thankful that you are alive?

Do you feel happy and lucky that you've been given another chance to live, learn, and laugh?

FACT IS - You've just won the Life Lottery.

What you've won is 24 hours, or 1440 minutes, or 86,400 seconds - depending on how you look at it.

Now what will you do with your winnings?

Spend wisely - but spend and enjoy your day.

Maximize every one of those winning seconds because once they're gone, they are gone forever.

Everyday you have the chance of waking up as a winner of the Life Lottery.

If you are one of the lucky ones that actually wins, by waking up tomorrow, remember this:

No amount of money, fame or good looks guarantees a winning ticket in Life's Lottery.

Every time you open your eyes at the start of every new day - you have won the Life Lottery!

Good luck and I hope your winning streak continues - for a long, long time!

Now, what was it you wanted with that 10 million?

Cheers, Jenny

PS I wrote the original version of this back in 2010. It never grows old - well, not like me anyway. Fortunately I’ve been winning the Life Lottery for quite some time. I hope my lucky streak keeps on going.

  1. Good points! I think people assume if they have money, all their problems will be solved. They don't realize that all winning the lottery would do is take away the need to worry about money...

    1. Hi Stephanie, thanks for stopping by Pearson Report.

Having worked with clients that are uber rich I have drawn the conclusion that while money is necessary for the basics it does not buy happiness. Sadly, those with money, thought worry free, are often not as contented as one might think.

I like being a winner of a daily lottery… I don't often spend all my winnings as well as I'd like… practice will hopefully fix that!

Wishing you lots of luck with the Life Lottery. Cheers, Jenny

  2. My brother-in-law is a millionaire and the most miserable person I know. Nothing makes him happy anymore. His friends aren't really his friends because they just all want his money. Me? I'm more than happy for that whole 24 hour lottery thing. :)

    1. Yikes, that's terrible. Does he at least share - I'm told (okay, I know from first hand) sharing makes one happy. Might I suggest you tell your BIL that.

I'm glad you're happy with your daily winnings! Good luck, and spend wisely! :)

  3. I'd by meself a place to live and I would take the rest of the money and be a secret benefactor to unsuspecting people in need around the world :) Or maybe I'd spend money on throwing down evil presidents around the world :) I'd most probably have a fund for promising young people and maybe form my army of wise minions that way...

    1. Hey Dezzy - how goes? I'd like to be on of your 'wise' minions - well, maybe you'd take me if I was a little unwise, hmm. :) :)

Money is fun when we have just enough to live well, but still need to be out and active in the world.

  4. Hey Jenny - Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're keeping warm. No new snow for us today and it seems like it might even be warming up out there.

I'm thankful each day. My outlook is good and even when I hurt like hell, I still find a way to make damn good lemonade.

    1. I'm warm, we are having the most crazy weather. Not complaining mind you, but I'm waiting for Old Man Winter to have the last laugh. We have breezed through this season without feeling his wrath.

I hope you're managing with your winter - seems everyone else is getting our snow. I hope you like it! :)

I'm glad you're thankful for each day - sorry you're going through allergy issues - have they been settling a bit? Hope so! Mmmm, lemonade… I could go for a glass.

    2. Jenny, I live in a snowbelt. So we're used to the white stuff. Really not a big deal. It's called winter.

    3. LOL - we used to have the best winters (also called winter) here on the West Coast. When I was a kid there was sooooo much snow we could ski in our backyard. Now… it's like Old Man Winter has forgotten about us. :(

I do miss it. Though, with so many drivers unfamiliar with driving in the snow I find I miss it less and less. So, enjoy it for me, will you! :)

  5. This is a good outlook. I'm always happy to see another day come because it means I lived through the night and have another day to do things. Usually my first thought these days is to see if my blog post went up okay (if I've scheduled one) and see if I've gotten any comments or emails.

The life lottery is always a wonderful prize, but a monetary blessing would be a big bonus that could help a lot.

    1. Oh to be sure, getting the hard cold cash winnings would definitely be a bonus. However, not winning the life lottery would negate the cash winning… vicious circle, eh.

I'm doing a lot of reading of posts - not on top of my own posting game - but that's about to change. :) :)
