IT’S A DOG’S LIFE...

If a picture is said to be worth a thousand words...well, here’s a short novel!

Lucky, our little Jack Russell, crossed with Shih Tzu, knows it’s all about the snoozing…

on her green swivel chair
by the fireplace
in one of her two beddies
in the guest bed
or simply
on the floor…

yes, she will tell you it’s all about the snoozing!

See for yourself...

Lucky, on her favourite chair.

Then again, she's a fan of the belly roast and loves the warmth of the fireplace.

 New beddie...

 Old beddie...

 Old beddie...

New beddie...it really is a tough decision.

Keeping the guest bed warm, just in case company comes...

Are you waking her...
What's that...you think she need a haircut...okay, if you say so.

 Okay...it's done...and doesn't she look sweet!

Now we are done.
Lucky's tired from all this attention and wants to get back to snoozing.

Thanks for dropping in and visiting with Lucky...she pretends there's always room for one more in front of the fireplace - but you'll have to bring your own mat! (she not good at sharing)

Are you a dog person or a cat person? Goldfish anyone?

Cheers,

 Jenny

  1. Lucky is lucky to live with you! I'm a cat and bunny person myself but my kids all have dogs so I'm getting used to them (actually I kind of love them now...who da thunk!) being in our lives.
Another week of sunshine forecasted. We'll be in Qualicum this week at a condo on the beach. Lucky us!
    Love your new header picture.

    1. Hey Carole, there's a whole story about how Lucky got her name...I think I'll post about it one of these days - it'll be worth a chuckle or two.

I know you love bunnies and so do I - when Miss CP was little we had several bunnies...one in particular, BunEarls, was my fav...such a sweet gentle little soul. She was a Netherland Dwarf - so little and so cute.

I'm jealous - I love Qualicum Beach and this time of year it is uber stunning...lucky you. I see "luck" is more than a dog's fate!

Enjoy...I'll be thinking of you and sending you happy thoughts and continued sunshine! Hugs!

  3. My dog thinks she's human. Sometimes I think if we gave her a knife and fork, she'd give it a go.

    1. Hey, Drake, long time no see ! How are you, dude? Well, where have you been - missed you!

Miss Lucyfur (her name most times - 'cause she's a little devil) thinks she's human too - funny isn't it - watching her look up at me and cock her head I swear she's just itching to have a conversation with me! It's hard to resist her cuteness!

Thanks for dropping by - awesome to see you...really, awesome! :) :) (you get two smiles - don't tell anyone - hahahahaha)

    2. I'm well thanks. Haven't been up to much, just sleeping. Someone tried to wake me up in June, but I absolutely insisted on another 3 months.

    3. You still have your crazy sense of humour even with all that sleep...you and Lucky would make a great team.

Again...can't tell you how great is was/is to see your funny avatar here in my comment area! I hope you'll wake up now and then and check in...I can always count on you for a giggle. (the elixir of youth)

      Happy sleeping!

    1. I love this comment, Matthew...if Lucky could read she'd be wearing a big smile. I read it too her, as she snoozed on the bed beside me...she did open one eye and it twinkled! :)

  5. Dogs are special and I miss having one very much. But I like Lucky before the clip. Have you sketched her? She is the perfect subject and will not move too much, I think.

    1. Lucky does look like two dogs - the before and the after. I groom her (being a hairdresser from way back) and I only go this short during the summer months. I love her shaggy look too!

I have never sketched her, but after taking these classes (coming up next week) I'm hoping I'll have some idea of where to start. Dog fur seems daunting to draw!

      Thanks for stopping by! :)

  6. We have two pups and they are a lot of fun. Great photos you have here. I love how fluffy she gets.

    1. Your little avatar just lit up my face when I came to read my comments. Toooooo cute!

Pups are fun...two might be a handful, but like kids, they grow up and then the two might be nice company for each other.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out my little fur ball! :) (I like her fluffy too)

  7. Being a dog lover (we have four), I had to tell you how cute your little doll is. Plus, I have to say, "Wow!" Your blog is awesome! So many beautiful photos and thought provoking posts, too. I had to add myself to your group of followers. I'm so glad you got those pencils back out. I'm trying to do the same thing. Digital art is safe for me, and I'm trying to get back into physical art. The journey is always fun, even though I'm always having to kick my inner critic in the rear end!

    1. Four!!! Whoa!! You're brave. But then dogs are pack animals so it's all good, right?

Thanks for checking out my blog, and for following - sweet!

Ah...the pencils, well, every now and then I have a hankering to get drawing again, so I thought it best if I go back to the basics, take a class or two (11 to be exact) and then have some fun. Your digital art is awesome by the way - and I'm part of your followers too! (Mutual fan club we've got going...hehehehe)

Enjoy taking a look around Pearson Report - there's a little something for everyone! :)

  9. Your Lucky is precious asleep or awake. Dogs...yes...cats...yes. I love them all. My husband is a fish watcher but also loves cats and dogs but won't admit to it. :)

Happy weekend Jenny! Thanks for your recent visit and always wonderful comment. xo

    1. The looks I get when I wake her are truly precious - but the one I used here was doubly funny because I caught her dreaming (or twitching) and she looked so startled to be woken...it really was funny. (mind you, she may not have thought so) :)

I'm godmother to a cat, Eira, so I'm in for a penny and in for a pound...love both dogs and cats. (had cats as a kid, dogs too...oh, and let's not forget the two fat bunnies)

Thanks for stopping by, Lisa, and for your equally "wonderful" comment - enjoy the coming weekend too! :)

  10. Awww. So cute. Looks like Lucky is the luckiest dog ever!

I'm both a cat and a dog person. And a rabbit person. And a horse person. I just love most animals.

And...again, I can't congratulate you enough on your recent published work - way to go girl!

Thanks for stopping by - as always a treat! :)

I had you pegged for an "all in" lover of animals! I've been around the pet block too - hamsters, bunnies and dogs. (no cats this go around...just when I was a little kid)

Thanks for dropping in for a quick visit with Lucky and me! :)

    1. Glad I could be of service in the smiles department. Cute furry animals have a way of doing that, don't they?! When I'm feeling a little blue all I need is a look from Lucky and I feel like smiling too!

And...you're welcome, I hope the fog is lifting...and I'm still sending hugs! :)

    1. Yup, Lu is the best - and the votes are in...shaggy seems to be the favourite look! *grin*
But in summer she likes it short, so I oblige.

For any one that drops by and read my comments, here's a direct link to Alfies Adventures - take a look at one cute little guy! Lucky loves him!

  14. And once you have perfected your drawing skills with Lucky, Auntie Jenny, you can draw me - I will even sit still for you!

    1. I know you can sit still...you are good at sitting still, and like Lucky you are very good a snoozing - so I'm sure I will be able to capture you with my pencil, if and when I acquire the skills for drawing furry little creatures. :)

  15. Aw, these are sweet pictures! Really sweet!

I'm a dog/cat/goat/cow/pig/horse/you name it person. I love them all. But I probably lean mostly into the dog column, if I were forced to chose.

    1. Thanks Em!

I'm on the same page - love 'em all! If forced to choose I'd be in the dog camp too! (shhh...don't tell the cat people) *grin*

  16. I am mainly a dog person, I've own two shi tzus and a sheepdog/dalmatian mix. I now live with two cats whom I adore as well. So I'd call myself bi-petual, but I skew dog.

I love Lucky, she is adorable. :)

    1. You're funny - bi-petual! I'm so going to use that term!

Lucky is my only pet right now, but I am the godmother of a cute little bengal cat named Eira - she loves me and I love her! (works out well - I just cat-sat her last weekend, she's sweet)

Yes, Lucky's adorable (I'm biased) but when we go walking she sure gets the looks! (lucky bitch - hahahaha)

  17. I've had dogs all of my life. As long as I can remember, anyway. And I have always been jealous of a dogs ability to get comfy anywhere. There's just nothing in this world that looks as comfortable as a napping dog.

I'm sure if she's your dog she is spoiled and Lucky, indeed. (wink)

    1. Do I read that as you currently have a dog - can't remember pets in our conversations...or it could be my memory (what's left of it) is malfunctioning. (again) *grin*

Oh...there is one thing in the world that looks as comfortable as "my" napping dog - and that would be me napping. (here's the visual - mouth open, spittle dripping out the side, nasal whistling keeping tune to an old CCR tune) Yup...nothing looks as good...!!! *double grin with a side of chortles*

  18. Oh my gosh, she's so cute! My smile got wider with each picture. Love the haircut.

I love dogs and cats both, can't choose between the two. <3

    1. Yah, it is hard to choose - I'm the "god-mother" of an adorable Bengal cat so I have a fondness for both. Lucky hasn't met Eira (yet) but I think the two would like each other.

Lucky is a funny looking little thing - here hair is wiry yet soft due to her mix and often covers her body in the strangest pattern. I cut her at the start of the summer and let it stay long and shaggy (except her face) over the winter/colder months.

Thanks for stopping by and checking Miss Lu out! She makes me smile daily! :)
