Take time to dream -
It is hitching your wagon to a star.
Take time to love and to be loved -
It is the privilege of the gods.
Take time to look around -
It is too short a day to be closed in.
Take time to laugh -
It is the music of the soul.
OLD ENGLISH PRAYER
What do you do when you "pause"?
Thank you for following, for commenting, for being out there and in here.
Jenny
Please remember these thoughts before you break in your new hammer! Julie
ReplyDeleteWhen I pause I hit unpause as soon as possible when I start thinking.
ReplyDeleteWhen I pause I tend to mentally soak in whatever mood has been surrounding me all day. Sometimes that soaking in can be a horribly depressive, emotionally stunting one while other times that soaking in gives me a positive awesome feeling, it really depends. "It's too short a day to be closed in," really reached out to me too, awesome stuff Jenny.
ReplyDeleteDream? I didn't even sleep last night!
ReplyDeletebeautiful words
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I'm afraid I don't pause as often as I'd like, but when I do, I love to listen to music, take a walk or take myself to the movies.
ReplyDeleteLovely words!
ReplyDeleteWhen I pause...I usually give my hubby a hug or scratch my dog's belly or just look out the window overlooking the bird feeders in the back yard and watch the birds dance and eat.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny!
Beautiful words. I try to pause at the end of the day but my mind is crazy and just wanders of into some really random places - will make for good stories one day hehe!

Love that prayer. When I pause...I daydream, stretch, take a few deep breaths, do a little self positive talk...and then go back after it!
ReplyDelete:-)
I just took a quick "pause" from my work since Photoshop crashed for what feels like the billionth time since the file I'm working on is so darn huge (and it's only 10:30am...) and thought I would swing by to check out your blog! That's what I do when I pause! :D
ReplyDeleteLove you Moo! HUGS!
Pause? What's that?
ReplyDeleteOK, on those rare occasions, I usually visit some of the places that only exist in my mind...houses waiting to be built, worlds not yet discovered, that kind of thing.
Today was one big, interesting, pause.
ReplyDeleteI have found a great way to pause for me lately is to get my paints or pens out and just doodle.
ReplyDeleteAll the stresses generally just disappear and I can lose myself for a bit
sometimes I just breathe.
ReplyDeleteWhen I pause I usually just try to be aware. To really notice what is around me. My pausing mantra: "This is now. What am I doing with it?"
ReplyDeleteFor me, I am outdoors, looking at nature, blue skies, trees, beach and breathing in and exhaling very slowly. I am aware of the gift that is around me. Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...you are all so wonderful for taking a "pause" and dropping in to share your thoughts with me!
ReplyDeleteHugs all around, Jenny.
Very comforting post. Sadly, when I pause I usually say, "I'm tired." But, starting today, I think I'll speak a dream out loud. Thank you for the reminder to dream my dreams before they are a reality.
ReplyDeleteI love to pause. Although I call it "ponder." Mrs. Penwasser knows exacty when I'm doing it, too. She calls it, "Effing off."
ReplyDeleteBut, I do love it so.
That's a wonderful prayer/poem. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem, Jenny. I daydream...I tend to do a lot of that! too much stressing out there, in the real world.
ReplyDeletexoxo
thank you for visiting :))
Ah... Indeed. Indeed.
ReplyDeleteAlways a good idea to stop and reflect now and then.
Wonderful post! When I pause I sit with a big pile of poetry books and just inhale them, ... slowly. *sigh* Thanks for the reminder, Jenny.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words... thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletelovely message... I think I don't have any of those ... :(
ReplyDeleteYou stole my heart with this post. I'm a water girl, a true pause for me is staring out at the ocean.

Beautiful words. I go on lots of picnics. They help me to pause.
ReplyDeleteDEAR COMMENTERS...Forgive the blanket reply...time has escaped me! I think my PAUSE button is still on and therefore I have been "out to lunch" a wee bit longer than I should have.
ReplyDeleteSo...THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING BY, SHARING YOUR PAUSE STORIES AND FOR MAKING ME SMILE.
Hugs to you all, Jenny.
