crying, weeping, sad
the wind contorts
whistling, whispering, chillingly bold
as in stillness?
no, just still
be still, sit so to be forgotten
soon shadows close in
holding tightly
the fears of loss
where did it go
a precious moment
soft grey fills the space
where you once sat
next to me
not long ago

Hard day today; just needed to close my eyes and let my thoughts drift aimlessly across the letters; stringing them together subconsciously, like a weaver after years of labour, not needing to look; the weight of the words rush forth like a river echoing the tears falling on silk.

  1. Sending thoughts to you Jenny.

  2. This makes it sound like there's something seriously on your mind, like you've lost somebody important in your life, if you have I'm seriously thinking of you though Jenny, hoping that you're okay, the poem is really beautiful though, I love them, it hits me especially hard because I'm going through loss right now it seems.

  3. Hi Jenny .. the title says it all - the poem evokes your feelings and that heaviness we get in times of devastation .. I'm thinking of you - life can be tough ..

.. as you say space is so necessary - to let one's mind just wander and not be drawn back into the depths .. take your time - sounds like you need some nurture .. from afar - Hilary

  4. I am sorry I didn't see this earlier. Here for you if you need me sweet lady. I hate that you are feeling blue. Hugs and much love

  5. Nothing to say, just know you are in my thoughts.

  6. Huge hugs, sweetie. I hope everything is better soon. Keeping you in my thoughts.

  7. Sorry for the weight in your life. Hope you find peace.

  8. Such sad words today, Jenny, and I'm so sorry you had such a hard day. If there really is something behind these words of yours, I am thinking of you and sending hugs your way.

  9. I, too, am sorry for your loss, whatever shape that loss took.

    Thinking of yuo today.

  10. So sorry, Jenny, that some loss caused you such pain. Thinking of you and sending prayers and virtual hugs.

  11. Positive thoughts headed your way, Jenny.

  12. Uh-oh.

The best I can offer is some warm squeezy cyber-hugs.

And if you look real careful, you might find my emergency bottle of gin in one of my pockets.

If you find it you can have it.......

Such beautiful and expressive words....we read them and we try to share your pain and 'loss'. I can only imagine how 'tears falling on silk' must sound....

  14. I'm so sorry, sending hugs and good thoughts your way. Such a powerful poem, I'm sorry you are feeling so sad.

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

I'd give you a penny for them, but alas we just snuffed it out. Yup...gone!
It's all about the nickel at this rate you can leave 5 thoughts!

Cheers, Jenny
