I'm over there... on YouTube, take a left at the next corner.

Do you ever find yourself somewhere you never thought you'd be...
                             and then liking it?

Well, with the arrival of ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS on March 20th, and COVID-19 in hot pursuit, that's what happened.

I found myself immersed in my ACNH game while being isolated from friends, family, and my business.

What's a gamer to do?

YOU START A YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND GO VIRAL (okay, mini viral)

You get over 1000+ Subscribers in 3 weeks.  (Currently at 2700+)

You get Monetized in under 4 weeks and start earning a little income.

You find out people like watching your videos so you keep making more. (Over 50+)

IT'S JOY AND HAPPINESS ALL THE WAY.

If you need a slight diversion drop by and check out LuckyPowPow

If you play Animal Crossing New Horizons I make tutorials for all kinds of things:

(the video that made my Channel pop)  Currently 94,000+ views)

Terraforming Tools (Playlist)  Episode 4 is the most popular.

the list goes on....

What are you playing these days?

Whatever it is that's keeping you busy I hope it brings you Joy and Happiness.
Be safe, and know "this too shall pass".

  1. That's an impressive following for something that started out as an impromptu venture!

    1. It has been quite a humbling experience. So many gamers, and others on YouTube, struggle to get the requirements for monetization (1000 Subs and 4000 Watch Hours) - this process can take some creators a year or more.

When I asked the question, "Why do people access YouTube?" and realized we go there to find answers to problems. So, I started doing tutorial videos that answered ACNH gamers' questions - the Why and How of it all. It got the ball rolling - particularly my orchard videos.

Now I make a variety of videos and the views vary - if it's a tutorial it does well. I experiment and try different things. One in particular, my Stories by the Campfire, is new... I will do a few more and see if it finds some legs.

YouTube is definitely a world unto itself and the learning curve can be steep - but then so can lots of things. I'm always up for a challenge.

Up next... getting into a better video making routine, and then starting to live-stream (that is often requested).

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you and your family are keeping yourselves safe and healthy. I saw the firewood load - that's going to keep you busy for a while. Cheers, Jenny

    1. It's good to see you Hilary - I hope you've been keeping well. Thank you for taking a quick look - it is definitely not for everyone, particularly if you aren't a Animal Crossing game player... but it is interesting, I agree.

It has been a wonderful way to keep myself busy during this difficult time and engaged with other like minded gamers.

Thank you for dropping by and seeing what I'm up to. I'm sending smiles and hugs to you. Jenny

  3. I don't know anything about Animal Crossing. My daughter does though. And my nieces.
That's a lot of followers in such a short time. Good for you!

    1. Thanks, Ruth - I'm happy to see you out and about on Blogger.

Yes, this game is often played by the "younger set" lol - in my heart and mind I'm still a kid (if only!). I definitely was surprised with the growth of subscribers - a bit overwhelmed, but I'm getting a handle on it.

Thanks for visiting, and checking out my little adventure during lockdown.
      Sending hugs your way, Jenny

  4. Sure racking up the followers. That is great indeed. Never know what things can show up and how they'll go til you give it a go.
