U is for MY UMBRELLA - so cute!

☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀

Welcome to Pearson Report.
I am participating in the 2015 A to Z Challenge.

Yes, I will be adhering to my THEME Calendar.

I loved all the tripping you wonderful folks were doing as you dropped by and checked in on me, thanks by the way! It was a necessary TRIP but I'm glad I'm back!

I tried to get this post up and running before my mental meter expired… sadly I don’t think I succeeded. So if there’s typos too bad! (I’m busy tripping - by the way, go google the word “trip” and then click “images” just see what that word really means!)

OKAY… HERE WE GO…

Today, I’m going to show you one of my favourite flowers.

MY UMBRELLA.

I love my umbrella. It’s a joy being under it when it rains because I look up and see this pretty flower covering me. Seems it brings joy to others too as I've had men and woman comment on what a beautiful umbrella it is.

My daughter loved it so much I bought her one too.

Then, because I didn’t want to be without it, and I knew it would eventually wear out, I bought a second, which presently lives in my closet, just waiting its day in the rain!

Okay… spill, do you have a favourite umbrella?

Cheers, Jenny

  1. I normally just use a hat! Your umbrella looks like a giant Dahlia!
If I had one it would need to look like a pine tree or a piece of beef jerky. Gotta uphold the man card you know! LOL

    1. I'm a hat person when walking Miss Lucy when it's raining. Otherwise it's my brolly! I think it would be cool if someone made "man" brollies with fun designs that cater to you guys. You know, one with trucks all over it...

  2. I wish I had an umbrella, but I just seem to always get wet! Le Sigh! :( lol!

    1. Awwww… you need one of Bushman's kind - a man brolly! Men always do "wet' so much better than us gals - we look like drowned rats, well, at least I do! LOL

  3. I do have a favorite umbrella. It was a gift many, many years ago from my sweet Rich. It is a Monet Water Lillies Umbrella. It's colors are so bright and cheerful that even in the rain it makes me smile, as you said. I love yours. It's fabulously cheerful! XX

    1. Oooohhhhh…. blog about yours too - I'd love to see a photo of it. I think I've seen one like it here, but it would have been ages ago.

A man walking next to me, not that long ago, said "it must be fun walking under that flower on such a rainy day" and I agreed. When it's dull, gray, and miserably wet, there's something about the pink and yellow that make me smile. Hugs and Love, xxoo

    1. LOL Oh, you made me laugh out loud and I startled wee dog snoozing next to me.

Hmmm… how does one explain an umbrella! hahaha Where's Al when we need him?!

    2. Just don't reference the Rhianna song when explaining. Cause that is on my list of dumbest songs in the universe.

    3. I'll confess I don't think I know it! So, I just googled it and listened to a bit on YouTube - yuck, is that actually music - think not! So, no worries about any referencing my brolly to that ho-dollly! hahaha

    4. I'm real sorry you had to be subjected to that.
Believe it or not, that song got pretty popular.

    5. Oh, no worries I sure didn't listen to more than the first few lines - I'm so not into rap style music. The YouTube had over 9 million hits, so yes, it must be popular.

    6. I guess you dodged a bullet. I swear I will forever hear ella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh in my head and I have not heard the song in quite a long time.

    7. I can't risk letting lyrics like that creep into my head - I'm in sponge mode - only the yuck sticks, all the good stuff falls out my ears. So I have to be ruthless about what goes in! LOL Might I suggest this strategy… hahaha

    8. These days certain songs or singers I just refuse to listen to. Alas, it is too late to undo that one.

  5. Hi Jenny - love the brolly ... it's beautiful and no wonder you bought your daughter one and another in reserve ... I never use a brolly - very short hair, not much of it and if necessary it gets covered with a hood ... But I'd like one of those to put on show ... and it'd match my sofa - which is pink and my rugs .. which are pink, red, orange, brick, peach coloured ...

    Cheers Hilary

    1. Do you ever buy something you love, then it wears out and you go looking for the same thing, only its left the planet, and then you're heartbroken? This has happened so often I couldn't risk it with this lovely brolly - hence the second!

If I had short hair I'd probably do more dashing around without a brolly! I think I need to send you the spare as decoration for your room. Your colours sound very appealing. Hugs, xxoo

Black for gloomy, rainbow for cheery and another one with umbrellas on it for the rest.

    1. Which is your favourite? I hope the rainbow one - sounds fun and sunny! So, you have one that has umbrellas on it… that must be cute too!

I used to do black… it was gloomy for sure. I needed to be uplifted on gray and soggy days, which we seem to get more and more these days. :) xo

    1. You most certainly should. When I saw this one, about four years ago in one of our major department stores, I loved it instantly. I balked at first because it was rather price (for an umbrella $42 Cdn) and I was afraid of losing it. Initially I walked away from it, but then I just had to have it. I knew how much fun it would be to have that gorgeous pink and yellow flower covering me from the rain.

I've never regretted it - in fact, I bought the second because I know how much pleasure this first one has given me. We get tons of rain, and after four years it's looking a little worn.

So… go find a smashing umbrella and enjoy! xxoo

  8. LOL, I don't think I have a favorite umbrella, we hardly get to use them seeing how I lived in a drought state before moving here and not much rain here since we moved in.

    1. I have a sun umbrella, which in hindsight I should have featured alongside this one. It's a beautiful lacy white thing with black polka dot. I'll sneak it into a post and it'll be our little secret! hahahaha Smiles coming your way, xxoo

  9. That's a beautiful umbrella!

I don't have one, usually I just make a mad dash through the rain.

    1. Hello A Joyful Chaos - welcome to Pearson Report.

Seems the mad dash is quite popular! It has been on my "have done" list but if I can avoid it I do. I have fine hair and getting it wet in public is probably against some by-law…. hahahaha Thanks for stopping by! :) :)

    1. You've joined the mad dashers! There seems to be quite a few that are doing the same thing. I smile at the thought - I prefer the umbrella for more than just a rain deflector, it brightens my spirits when the day is gray.

Thanks for stopping in Keren - much appreciated. :) :)

  12. Your umbrella is really pretty. I bought an umbrella with hummingbirds amongst the flowers for my mom. Since she is in long term care, I use this umbrella now and it reminds me of her

    1. You're does double duty in such a beautiful way - keeps rain off you and reminds you of a loved one. What a lovely keepsake. I've bought things for my mother which I know will have special meaning when they find their way back to me, simply because they were loved and used by her. Hugs, xxoo

    1. At first I was hesitant buying it for that reason. It was too pricy to lose, but then, its beauty and the happiness I was feeling because of it caused me to bust loose and go for it.

I've been lucky so far… typing this with crossed fingers. :)
