  1. How fun with the pictures! The fence looks really nice! I need a camera currently, my old one broke; been taking pictures with my tablet, but just not as convenient as a camera :)

    1. Hi Betty, I have fallen in the habit of using my phone, which takes a decent enough picture, but my camera was (and is) still my favourite for getting close up and personal with my pictures.

Problem is, I forget my camera and then silently curse myself when I miss a great shot that would be better taken with a "real" camera.

I don't have a tablet, but I imagine it might be awkward to hold. :)

  2. The house is looking very nice!

My camera feels sadly neglected because we rarely have any fun together. I tend to forget to take pictures and then later wish I had brought my camera. And I don't know how to take pictures with my phone so I don't have photos there either.

    Sad, I know.

    1. Thanks about the house… yup, it's looking nice! :)

As I said to Betty, above, I don't take my camera long near as often as I did prior to my phone having one built in. Sadly, it's not as good at certain shots, like closeups or night shots.

I'm now getting back into taking it with me so I have new photos for my Write Brain Challenge where I use a daily photo (that I took) as my prompt. So there is my motivation.

What phone do you have? You should try to figure it out at least then you'd have something with you when opportunity knocks. All this technology drives me crazy.

    2. I have an old Nokia flip phone. Actually I have taken pictures with it, but I'd have to remember how I did it and the photos aren't all that great anyway.

  3. I do have fun with my camera, and blogging makes the perfect venue to share photos. I love seeing my blogging friends pictures of their homes and families and where they hang out.

    1. I know you have fun with your camera, Karen, I see it in the lovely and very inviting photos you tease us with.

As the A to Z is fast approaching I'm thinking I might base my post on photos. Something easy for visitors to enjoy and only a little writing.

I'm doing most of my writing now over at Write Brain Challenge and I don't know if I will be biting of more than I can chew if I try to do something with a lot of writing here, on this blog.

    1. Hahaha, on occasion we get that - drives Miss CP crazy! I love it though, a sweet little ego booster.

  5. I love the color. It goes great with the wood.
Great pictures too. Love the background.
I'm glad at least part of it is done.

    1. I'm happy with the whole colour scheme. Since I was trying to recreate the look of the '30's this was what I had to work with. I love the Western Red Cedar - it' just pops.
The photos were taken up at on top of QE Park. The day was gorgeous.

  6. That looks fantastic! The wood is such a great contrast with the color of the house.

I use my camera on my phone, which is very high quality, but if you looked through the albums you'd probably roll your eyes. Cat picture, cat picture, cat picture... interesting beer I drank and want to remember the name of... cat picture, cat picture...

    1. Thanks - I'm loving the colour scheme.

Re the phone/camera thing - I do think the new phones have some amazing cameras. Mine in a iPhone 4s and it's tired. I was out looking at the new iPhone 6, it's sooooo expensive. I'm thinking I might need to donate an organ… maybe a faulty liver… haha (said as she cracks open another beer) LOL

I love cat pics, particularly sleeping cats, they can look so goofy in some of their positions.

  8. Your pics are great and so is your house! That fence is solid! I like taking pictures but sometimes I forget to bring the camera

    1. Thanks Birgit - I'm pleased with how the house looks. I'm looking forward to spending time outside and enjoying that epic fence, and the privacy it affords.

Prior to having an iPhone I never went anywhere without my camera - I think deep down I was meant to be a photographer. I'll take a picture of just about anything. I love seeing if I can capture things from odd angles too.

You should just put your camera out on the table where you'll see it. :)

  9. Statues always make for fun photos. That's a glorious view in the backdrop too I.
Congratulations on finishing the house. It's lovely. You have a guest room? Smiles.

    Be well, Jenny.
I appreciate that you stopped by my blog.

    1. My pleasure, Robyn - your story was so delightful.

As to guest room… if you could only see the inside of my house. It's up for Phase Two of my renovations. But first I need to rob a bank. LOL

I can pitch a tent out back though… and with summer coming (unless you're reading Game of Thrones then it's "winter is coming") I think camping in my backyard will be fun! That and barbecuing.

I'm lucky to live in such a beautiful city - no matter where I point my camera seems the view is pretty good. :)

Thanks for stopping by… smiles coming your way. :) :)

  10. Hi Jenny - robbing a bank for the house's innards and selling your 'grotty' liver - both seem a little excessive ... by the look of it a hammock on the balcony would do really well and then a place from which to take erring clouds high in the sky?! You'll enjoy each part of the renovations and that's the main thing .. as in "the fence" - looks amazing. Love the photos of the house, and the kids and you .. and the statues!

Looks like things are ticking along nicely - and an invite for a tented camp out with a barbecue sounds good to me too ..

Enjoy building up to the A-Z .. and glad to catch up with you - cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks for dropping in Hilary. I'm glad we had a little catchup too.

A hammock is a great idea, I was actually looking at one of those porch swings, big enough to lay on and have a snooze in the afternoon - and visit my dreams.

Smiles and hugs are coming your way. xxoo

    1. Hello Elsie, so sweet of you to drop in. Yes, the house has come a long way, and the road just keeps winding along. The inside needs finishing, but for now I'm sitting back and enjoying the outside, and my yard. I can't wait to plant flowers.

Those stairs were perfect for catching me, and the kids in a nice light! :)

I hope all is well in your world - hugs and smiles. xxoo

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

I'd give you a penny for them, but alas we just snuffed it out. Yup...gone!
It's all about the nickel now...so at this rate you can leave 5 thoughts!

Cheers, Jenny
