Word COUNT - Making WORDS count.

Visit Write Brain Challenge to check out my latest free write piece, and the photo that inspired it. Thanks, Jenny.

Day 12 done - heading into the home stretch of WEEK TWO.

I’m excited and surprised.

EXCITED…

because I’m writing - I’m writing daily! TOO COOL!

SURPRISED…

because my WORD COUNT is about 550 on average for fifteen minutes
of writing.

In 12 days I’ve written 6,826 words.
WOW! I’m stunned - doesn’t seem like I’ve written that many.

Maybe, it’s that 15 minutes seems like such a short time to get much accomplished in.

Well… blow me over! The numbers don’t lie.

536-551-558-559-544-591-476-566-581-569-737-558

Here’s the scoop…

Going Home

My free write with the least words, at 476, is GOING HOME
I really enjoyed writing this piece… sort of Star War-ish.

Just Human

My free write with the most words, at 737, is JUST HUMAN
Now this one was interesting as it contains a lot of dialogue. Seems my characters were in a chatty mood.

No Fight Left

My favourite, so far, at 569 words, is NO FIGHT LEFT
There is something sad about this piece. It touched me, made me think of my mom.

So… as goals go, this goal is going along great.

And… she sells sea shells by the sea shore… just in case you needed a real tongue twister.

And you…

How are your goals coming along?

Cheers, Jenny

    1. You're too kind - I should state that I'm only at the tip of a very big iceberg. The year looms long and its shadow even longer.

Ahhh, if only it were easy and effortless - I'm glad I make it seem so! :)

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and smiles.

    1. Thank you, Andrea. It's awesome… and daunting at the same time.

I am having fun though; I hope that feeling continues. :)

  3. I think I mentioned here that I was going to start kayaking. Unfortunately it's 7 degrees and the lake has frozen over.

    1. I'm sure you'll get to that kayaking after the lake unthaws. Are you iceskating instead? :)

I'm glad we've re-connected too, Barb, you've added to my happiness.

    1. That should be my motto for more things - chocolates, wine… time to use the "little goes a long way" on those things.
I am proud of making time - that's the real thing here; making time for me to pursue my passion. It is making me happy.

My Christmas stuff was down New Year's Eve… not always the case, but this year I was raring to go. You'll get to yours when you're ready - enjoy them while they're up. :) xo

  6. My only goal today is to rest. So far, I've nailed it.

    Happy Goal Hitting, to you.

    1. Now there's a goal worth striving for - rest! I should actually work on "rest" and "relaxation". But, one thing at a time, those might be next year's goals.

I'm happy you've nailed your goal - I'm doing a Happy Dance for you! :)

    2. Well, I tell you, I might get antsy but honestly, a sore throat has no place in my kitchen. So I stay out.

    3. Good call - I'm the same with my kitchen, only it's everything that has no place in my kitchen - including me. Damn renovations… well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it! :P

  7. If I wasn't getting my ass kicked at work every day I might be able to come home and do something constructive. I'll get there. You, on the other hand, are finding a way to get it done. Kudos to you. I should take lessons.

    1. Your schedule is brutal - I'll give you that. I'm lucky that way - though around here the backhoe and boys are starting at 8am and it's nonstop all day long.

I'm only getting to my writing in the evening. I hope after this week is done there will be a little reprieve from all the noise.

I'm not to be looked at for lessons - I am winging it, and that I do well. It's all those years of doing the A-Z on the seat of my pants. :)

And, also, you ARE getting there - I'm totally impressed with what you're hammering out given the demands on your time. It'll all come together in the end, you'll see.

    1. Hey Pop - good luck with the working out goal - it'll happen. Tomorrow's as good as any day to start something - why do today what you can think about doing tomorrow. As good a motto as any, eh! :) :)

      Thanks for stopping by.

  10. I'm impressed. I applaud you and am shouting "Encore!"
I write so slowly, I wouldn't dare take on that challenge.
Congrats to you, and keep cranking it out. Smiles.

    1. I'd take a bow after that amazing applause but with only 12 days down (now 14 since the writing of this) I still have 351 more free writes to do. I'll bow when I'm at the end… but, keep the applause coming - I need all the encouragement I can get.

Thanks for stopping by, Robyn - much appreciated. :)
