T is for Take Time

Often, I take time to reflect upon my journey.
Source of inspiration.

look, so very deep
in and out
take time
to feel
your
heart
beat

look, so very far
left and right
take time
to find
your
soul

look, so very high
up and around
take time
to seek
your
voice

together they come
all around you
take time
to be
one

take time
for you

Do you follow your heart and hear your voice?

What do you do to nourish your soul?

Cheers, Jenny

Re the artwork - the other day, while sitting in the Lost and Found I was reflecting upon my life’s journey. I came upon a wonderful blog featuring some amazing photos - truly stunning. I was inspired to do a quick sketch of this boat - it spoke to me. I listened.

    1. Thanks, Rhonda. I'm always happy to read when someone is determined to follow their heart, even with the help of a grounded hubby! Being true to one's self is a delightful way to go through life. :)

  3. Awesome Jenny!
I love poems. I listen to my heart. Sometimes I wish it would shut up though! I'll check out that site when I get home from work.

    1. I'm grinning - thanks!
I know you listen to your heart - it's so apparent over at your blog. I really enjoyed your "T" post too.

I came upon this site, mentioned above, in the comment section of Leovi's blog -Abstract Photos.
I often visit blogs in the comment section of some of my favourite blog.

Thanks for stopping in... and when you're busy no less - I'm honoured! :)

  5. Beautiful poem Jenny. Did you draw the boat? I absolutely love it regardless, it's always good to take time to reflect.

    1. Thanks, Matt - I did draw the boat, it in turn inspired the words for my poem. I enjoyed creating them both... sometimes this is a side of me that wants to be out in public, so for this post I obliged my inner artist. :)

    1. Thank you, Linda. Sometimes things like this just happen - one goes with the flow then and let's the subconscious take over. :)

When we listen, we truly hear. When we truly hear, we understand the need to listen some more. Best wishes.

    1. It does, doesn't it - no time often results in great unhappiness. I strive for a large amount of happy in my life... therefore I give myself the time needed to find it and enjoy it - even in something as simple as looking at a photo and finding the art within.

Happy "T" day to you too! :)

    1. Well, keep trying and good luck at it - it takes a bit of practice but once you get used to taking time for yourself it becomes habit - and a good habit at that! :)

  11. Take Time.
Unless it's out at the newsstand.
Then, there's always US News and World Report.
    Or, in a pinch, People.

  12. I'm not sure how that boat is going to help you keep warmed up to draw the Queen - unless it's the QE II. Ha! That part just came to me! But really. Nice boat, nice poem. And you HAVE to TAKE time. You can't make time. No one can make time, it has to come from somewhere else. And that being said, it is about time for me to take some also! Too hectic lately. So I'm taking some time tomorrow!

    1. Hahaha - I wondered if I would get a witty retort - thanks! Well, if I decide the photos don't please me after all I will be ship drawing!

No matter how one slices it... the taking of time is imperative. I am glad you will be taking time for yourself tomorrow - enjoy! Anything special you'll be taking time to do?? Pray tell. :):)

  13. Hi Jenny .. love the drawing - it's exquisite and would fit very well with many of the other black and white drawings, etchings etc I have ..

No - I need to take more time to stop and smell the roses, and preferably taking a leisurely ride out on a little bywater bourne (river) ... under the warm sun - not now .. it's hailing!! Cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks Hilary - I am trying to do a drawing (sketch) a day using thing I see on the net or around me. It seems to get a little easier the more I practice which is the way it goes - practice makes perfect!

You should do a post about your black and white drawings - I would love to see them.

I'm smiling reading the bit about "it's hailing" as we have been having our share of strange weather too - and so very cold on top of it. I think the planet is definitely going through some sort of weather shift. :):)
