I showered and changed for the occasion…

Al, over at Penwasser Place, made mention of my “new picture” in a comment of his; not that he didn’t like the old one, he says, but he “likes” my new picture too.

Here...let me quote him…

“Like your new picture (which doesn't mean I didn't like the old one).”

See, told you, he likes it!

It’s been a while, so I thought I’d freshen up and put on a new frock - lord knows my blog is forever getting a new look; “Why not me,” said I, to me and myself. The three of us need to agree on these sorts of things.

Anyway...here it is, the original:

And here’s my crop job so it fits as my new profile photo.

Yup, me likes it too, Al - good call!  :P

How often do you change your Profile Photo?
(I had the other one since I started blogging back in 2009)

Cheers, Jenny

  2. You look great!
And I've noted several people this past week who said you talked them into the A to Z Challenge - very cool.

    1. Thanks, Alex.

Yes, this last week I've been rustling up my posse; I'm tickled that I'm hard to say no to! Go me!

    1. The camera likes me - and I'm a fan of hamming it up so on occasion there are some good ones amongst the ham!!

The first photo was part of a series from a photo shoot I did - and out of all this was just so cheerful - I figured it was time to break from the dark shades and deep, reflective, staring off into the distance look that the last one had.

I look forward to seeing your new pics...don't keep me in suspense too long...or I'll be tracking you down with my camera for that deer in the headlight shot - the result of me sneaking up on you while busying yourself in the kitchen creating something yummy for that blog of yours.

And, thanks Ruth, for the sweet compliment. :)

  4. You look incredible here Jenny but honestly you never don't! Great new profile photo too, it's a good idea to have change every once and a while.

    1. Thanks, Matt - cheques in the mail!! You're the best!

You may notice I am not big on having photos of myself all over my blog, or in my post pics - hence keeping the same Profile photo for years.

I know you change it up often which is very cool! :)

  5. That is a great profile pic, and the original is very cool! I change my picture when I realize the current one doesn't really look like me anymore.

    1. Thanks Andrea - funny thing about me my face is very static - hasn't changed in 30 years. Much to the frustration of my daughter we are often asked if we are sisters...naturally me being the older. ;)

My hairstyle has pretty much remained the same - longish with a bit of a fringe (not quite a full bang) - the only thing that changes with me is my eyewear...I have an assortment of glasses.

Your current photo is very pleasing and clear enough for us to thoroughly enjoy your charm; your smile is beautiful and your hair is enviable. I sense you are showing us your bracelet...and that intrigues me. All in all your profile photos is a wonderful choice! :) :)

    2. PS - I've added you to my Blog of Note Blogroll - and added myself as a Follower...here I thought I was already following you...sucks getting old. I wished I had the working components of a brain, but it appears I traded them in for a youthful glow! hahahah

  6. See, I told you (and you can quote me)! Change is always good. For instance, it may do me some good to get off that toilet.
NOTE: On the eve of the A-Z Challenge, I'm still severely restricting my reading and commenting. Starting tomorrow, back to normal (well, for me). However, I wanted to come on over to your place to throw in my two cents (while we still have cents in the USA-yes, that's a play on words).
    So, you may feel cursed.

    1. Actually...you gotta check out what I wrote over at Ruth's Yummy site in the comments - you'll fall off your toilet!

I love that picture - makes me grin from ear to ear every time I drop by your place. You'd have to be doing something mighty funny to top that one...but knowing you you've already got something up old Penwasser's sleeve, or pant leg... :P

  7. They are both good photos but a head and shoulder shot is important for profile photos. I change mine once a year...which reminds me that it is time to find a good one for this year.

    1. Thanks, D.J. - I tried to zoom in closer for this profile pic, but the overall quality of the first photo isn't great, hence the profile photo is still a little distant.

Once a year's a good idea if a look changes much in that time period.

      Thanks for stopping by! :)

    1. You and I are of similar nature, Hilary, I say if nothings wrong with it why bother! That goes for profile photos and a whole host of things. In my case I was getting tired of the "darkness" of the other photo, otherwise I would probably have kept it. :)

I'll look forward to seeing if you make any changes to yours!

  9. Hi there Jenny, it's so nice to be able to see your pretty face. :)

    1. Ah Lisa - you put a smile on that "pretty face" of mine. I consider myself lucky in the "pretty face" department and given I'm an esthetician I do my very best to preserve it with a host of lotions and potions.

But, dare I say...a lot has to do with the camera and how comfortable we feel having our picture taken. It does capture a moment in time and if in that moment of time a face cringes, flinches or tightens (due to a dislike of having one's photo taken) it can be an entirely different "pretty face".

Plus, most of the time, when a camera is in sight I go into "ham" mode and just enjoy the moment hence the wonderful illusion of my face being "pretty".

But hey, who am I not to take your lovely words to heart! Thanks, sweet lady!

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

I'd give you a penny for them, but alas we just snuffed it out. Yup...gone!
It's all about the nickel now...so at this rate you can leave 5 thoughts!

Cheers, Jenny
