It took me a little while but it's all in the eyebrows/eyelashes isn't it? I can't believe how beautiful the drawing is though Jenny. I mean that in a completely non offensive way because I knew you were capable of such awesome sketches but it's just blown my mind how quickly you've improved, it's a wonderful, eye catching piece and I simply adore it!
Good eye, it is the eyelashes. When I finished the drawing and cut it down to size and then put it in this frame (which has magnetic corners that hold the glass on) I was thinking something seems off - took me a minute, but then I saw it too.It is an adorable little horse, that's for sure! (with or without eyelashes) :)
Ah ha I can see it. Eyelashes.Looks amazing framed next to your pretty fairy
I tried to take the pics in the same position and light, but it's not so easy. You guessed right - it is the eyelashes. Couldn't leave the sweet thing without them.My table of inspiration, although my orchids, which have since bloomed and are standing there with just leaves, are not that inspiring. I talk to them, and told them they had better get blooming or they're going for a ride to the dump! (idle threat - I still love them) :)
My dear Jenny, it is not even 6am here and I have been squinting at my screen for the past five minutes trying hard to discover the change in the second picture. I'm sorry to report that I'm still completely befuddled. I will say that you did a fantastic job on this drawing!! I'm just going to guess and say it's your signature that is missing from the first, though I can't see it. I hope you did sign it. That is one fine piece of art!
Jenn - I'm giggling (with you of course) because I didn't catch those pesky little eyelashes until after it was in the frame and I was looking at it thinking something is missing. Then I had that "ah ha" moment. You'd have had that moment too, if you waited until 7am. :)
Good one, Em-Musing - it is the eyelashes. :)
This is maddening! The first thing I checked for was your signature, but that is in both...hmmm.....not sure I can let it go....
Ahhhh! Found it as soon as I hit published, but eye don't want to lash out and spoil the next person's fun!
Hey Andrea - thanks for stopping in and taking a look - it was a moment of frustration when I discovered I had forgotten the lashes - I had already sent a text with photo to my daughter, whose little pony this is, and didn't catch it until after I sent it. I'm sure she had a wee chuckle. The fun part about this particular post is my comments are not immediately visible because I have comment moderation on; one didn't have the advantage of see what others wrote, which I think made it all the more interesting. Thanks for taking a look! :)
Oops. Maybe I shouldn't have said what it was, only that I spotted it. Feel free to delete my previous comment. :)
*Giggling* First - yes the eyelashes were missing.Second - as I said to Andrea, above you, with comment moderation being on comments were not available to see due to me just getting up now. So the post was up for about eight hours without me checking it. In fact, when I looked at my Inbox I was chuffed to see how many had played along. (I'm borrowing this fun word (chuffed) from dear Matthew, it's perfect here) :)
I'm never good at these so I could not spot the difference. It's fantastic drawing, though. I admore your talent. :)
Aw, hugs to you for trying - I didn't catch it either...right away! :)It's the eyelashes - just in case you come back and want to know!
The only thing I see is that in the second photo the photo is taken straight on. ???
Yes, that is a difference too. It was hard to take the second photo so it would look exactly like the first, in fact I took far too many photos and then struggled to find the one that most resembled the first.I did not spot the missing lashes until a short time after I trimmed and framed the drawing. By then I had already texted it to my daughter; I laughed when I thought about her reaction to her favourite pony being drawn with out lashes. Lesson here - stop, breath and really "see" what is before me! (ah, does it ever end!) :)
forgive me but I don't see a difference they both look amazing
Hey becca - it's the eyelashes, and no worries, they are really small - so small that I missed drawing them on in the first place - too funny! Good thing I could easily remove the glass from my picture and correct my oversight. :)
Keep on the good work!
Thanks Claudia! :)
The eyelashes. They do add a certain panache to the drawing. :)
They do, don't they - I would have not been happy without them. :)
Hah! I see some people spotted it. I pored over the pictures this morning and couldn't see it. Then I came back to it just now and spotted the difference immediately. Must have woken up since then :)If you hadn't added the eyelashes in, I reckon no-one else would have noticed, but you would have felt the omission staring at you every time you saw the drawing!
Funny isn't it how we can miss something one moment and see it the next. It took me a few moments to realize something was off when I was comparing it to the photo I was working off of.When I did realize what I had forgotten I smiled as I had already texted a photo to my daughter, proudly showing off my work. She must have giggled - she would have picked up on the missing lashes as this is her favourite of the My Little Pony series. It wasn't an option not to add them once I saw them missing. :)
Eyelashes. Great use of light and shade in the picture, too - very nice!
Yes, eyelashes! Thanks for kind words - I'm still getting the hang of tonal values - it's a slow and steady learning process.
Wow. Yeah, I suck. I went back and forth several times and didn't see it. Had to cheat and look at the comments.**sigh** That's what I get for getting out of bed too early in the morning. (grin)
Don't fret - I didn't catch it either until it was in the frame, and I'm the artist. You'd have caught it after a coffee or two! I'd even recommend not getting out of bed "too early" to surf and comment - all hell breaks loose around here if I'm not plied with at least two coffees...then, and only then, do I dare turn on the computer! *chuckle*
Hi Jenny had a look - but had to cheat!! Well done .. you're achieving so much with your drawings ... and being brave too putting them here for us to see ... fun post - I'd have needed lots more coffee I think! Cheers Hilary
It's okay to cheat, in this instance, even I had a hard time spotting the missing lashes when I first "finished" this drawing. It wasn't until I took a hard look and had this niggling feeling that something was off. (literally off - no eyelashes) :)I like sharing my progress, I hope it lets others see that nothing is impossible if on just tries! Thanks for stopping by, Hilary - hope all is wonderful in your part of the world. With smiles, Jenny
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.I'd give you a penny for them, but alas we just snuffed it out. Yup...gone!It's all about the nickel now...so at this rate you can leave 5 thoughts!Cheers, JennyNOTE: Comment Moderation is ON for posts older than 14 days.
