Never heard the song in the original format but when I was drinking.....more than now... I used to frequent a certain aviary club and it was Karaoke night. Nothing worse than a drunk....er singing North to Alaska. I generally headed South. once the music died I would turn north...depending on how much I had to drink!
I love this song always have since I was a child and also liked the movie it was playing only last week at the nursing home. They play a lot of old movies at the nursing home.........thanks for it really made my morning along with some lilacs on another blog......
Yes, I've been to Alaska via a tiny cruise ship when I was 18. Two 18 yr old girls, without chaperones, on a cruise ship.....I'm surprised my mother didn't have a heart attack when I told her my plans!
Beed there. Dood that. We lived in Fairbanks for four years. And we would go back if we could afford it. Just found out I could make some serious jack up there doing what I do here. Unfortunately the same house we live in down here that we paid 77,000 for would cost us almost 300,000 up there.
Alaska is unique. We were there last year and would love to go back, but in the summer only. The You Tube clip is perfect. I think it takes a special person to live there--younger and someone who has a bit of courage. And. . .I have given you the "Lovely Blog" award--I admire your writing. Just know that and don't feel obligated.
I've never heard this song before, or the artist but I really do like it haha, even though it's very different!
