New Year’s Eve has come and gone...here’s your next countdown...

In just a couple of days the official Blogging from A to Z sign-up will begin - January 30th, to be exact!
I’m dressing up for the occasion by adding a new tab, A to Z 2012 INFO PAGE, to my blog.
This page is going to act as my blog’s central hub for those of you wishing to share your ideas on themes, posting strategies and any Challenge relevant comments, or questions, you may have.
If you need more information about the Challenge make this INFO PAGE your first stop.
On the INFO PAGE you will find links to specific information so you don’t have to go searching for answers - it will all be in one spot.
If you don’t see the info or help you are looking for - leave a comment, or email me directly (my email is on that page) and let me do the leg work for you.
Drop by the A to Z 2012 INFO PAGE and take a look around - let me know what you think!
Since this page is for YOU, your input is important!

Don’t forget to take the Badge, over in the upper right-corner, and add it to your blog - this let’s all your Followers, and visitors to your blog, know you are up to the Challenge!

Also, if you do any posting about being part of the Challenge I will be happy to do a link back to your post over here at Pearson Report.

“What can I do to spread the word?”, I hear you asking!
1 - Invite your Followers to join the Challenge. Put the Challenge out there for them - maybe your post will be the first they hear of it! (That’s how I found out last year)
2 - Add a link to the Blogging from A to Z Challenge blog site so they know where to sign up. You can put a link in your side bar or at the end of a post - everywhere and anywhere - be creative!
3 - Twitter and Facebook about the Challenge.
4 - Share your Challenge strategies, theme ideas or teasers with your Followers - it's a great way to fill in a post when you’re stuck for ideas!
5 - Use your own ideas - you’ve probably got some pretty creative juices flowing and I’d love to know what you come up with.

Share your ideas with me in my new A to Z  2012 INFO PAGE hub; they could end up on the front page of Pearson Report!

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST...I want to say a sincere, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you for your support and encouragement, here at Pearson Report, while I’ve been busy, behind the scene, creating these posts for this Challenge.

Thank you for following, for commenting, for being out there and in here.

  1. I have an idea for maybe one of your posts on how to. You could have one on how to get links to open in a new tab or window. I do mine that way so you don't have to back up to get back to the original post.

    1. Excellent suggestion Ruth. I'll get right on it, with a few screenshots for the visuals. This is exactly what we're looking for - great ideas on ways to help bloggers navigate around a post with ease.

Thanks for dropping by and taking part in these pre-challenge dialogues! It means a lot to me. :)

    2. Ruth - I just read Botanist's comment - and went right back into my Posts and modified my own links. I have always double clicked on a link so I wasn't really aware of this being an option - even though, as I said to Botanist, it was staring me in the face.

Wee bit of blushing going on...but, I'm always open to learning something new...which I will promptly share with the world (or my little corner of it anyway).

I took some screenshots of me making the changes and in the next couple of days (maybe after the sign-up) I'll get a post up about it.

    3. I do it with all my posts, but you are the one with all the how to posts. Have the link open in a new tab, I mean.
I can't even figure out how to take screen shots. I've been told but can't do it.
Maybe you could do another one on thought. It seems simple and tons of people get it. I hope I am not the only one that doesn't.

    4. After going back to my posts and modifying the bit on the linking screen to say "yes" to opening in a new link - I'm pooped! Lots of work this linking business.

I will do a post about it, that's for sure! As to screenshots, with my MacBook Pro, well just hold Command+Shift+4 and you will see a little cursor appear, use your mouse/trackpad to encompass the area you wish to "capture" and then let go of the mouse/trackpad and it will click.
The screenshot will appear on your desktop. I'll do a visual step by step shortly and post it!

    5. I was told to use a key on my keyboard and that doesn't work. I may need to go into the software for this keyboard and see what I can do. Some of the buttons work by default and some don't.
By the way, I did sign up both blogs for the challenge. Things are hectic at home, but I decided to go a head and do it anyway.

    6. Are you using a PC or Mac?
Also, I don't know how you "multi-blog" bloggers do it! I have a hard enough time keeping my head above water with one blog. That being said, both of your blogs are great!

    7. I have a PC.
If it was summer and the garden was in full swing, there would be no way I could do it. This year will be better since I have a lot longer to prepare.
      Thanks.

  2. Thanks for the reminder. I am planning to give it a go this year.

The question of how to get links to open in a new tab is easy, in Blogger, anyway. When you add a link to your post, the dialogue box that pops up to enter the URL has a little checkbox down the bottom to make that happen.

    1. Thanks you Botanist! Funny thing, isn't it, how something can be right there, and yet not be seen.
Due to your great comment I went and did a quick amendment over at my new Tab, as well as on this post.

I really appreciate you sharing that little tidbit. I will be doing a post about it; I think there are others that are over-looking this very handy feature.

Thanks for stopping by - I look forward to seeing your name on the list for the Challenge. :)

How does one avoid "thin" is the question...and a totally post worthy discussion - for your interview, which we must schedule at a time, when we can both be sitting back enjoying our favourite beverages. Hugs, Jenny

    4. You tell her Barb! I think you two will rock this Challenge! It's fun and the camaraderie is amazing. When I started, last year's Challenge, I had 29 Followers, some of my nearest and dearest came to me during that time - it's one of the best things I did for my blog and my writing.

I'm counting on you girls - you're part of the Pearson Team! Now, go out there and get your Challenge booties (or stilettos) on and let's rock this party!

    5. no fair both of you ganging up on me.

Considering I just posted a rocking post about Icecream, I think I might even have a head start lol.

just be warned. A= Art, B= Bangkok, C= Canvas, and E will most likely be Elephants.

    6. Awww...Ms. Mynxy - we'd never gang up on you! (Well, we will if you don't join in on all this fun we're going to have, it just won't be the same without you!)

But, it looks like you're already hooked - look at those great post ideas you've put together...a few more letters to go and you're done! (want to do mine too?!!)

    7. Im still on a holiday booking high. You haven't got me yet and you can write your own Miss Jenny.

And, truly, please don't be pressured - this is about having fun - not stress!!

  4. I actually can't wait for this Jenny, you're going to do awesome! I'll do my best to spread the word over this too, I'll definitely make a post before the challenge begins plugging it as the very least.

  7. with all these organisational skills, darling, you should consider running for president :) I will be your secret services chief - we need a man like me faced with the zombie infestation!

    1. Well, dear Dezzy - best I can do here is Prime Minister, but President Pearson does sound good, doesn't it! hehehehe
Without a doubt you would have a serious role on my staff, besides secret services chief, you'd double as my movie advisor; I'd have to have a huge theatre in the "official" residence, right?

As to the zombie's, we'd have them stand guard outside - where we'd dangle Shane and Laurie from the balcony...entertainment for a night when we don't have a movie selected!

ALSO...I can't tell you how totally over the moon I am to see I've made your "SPY ON THESE CHARMERS TOO" blog roll - if you could see me doing my Happy Dance, you'd be giggling too!
Double squishy hugs are heading your way... :)

      Delete
    2. it's a deal, and as president you will have a special honour of "accidentally" kicking Laurie off the balcony (on the 123th floor, just to be sure... we from the secret services leave nothing to chance you know....)

Didn't know the spot in the blogroll could make people so happy :)) Although it really is a special place, so many people have become friends and blogging buddies after meeting in my blogroll :)

      Delete
    3. Wow, we're going to have a building with 123 floors - cool! But then I'll want someone else to do the "kicking" so I can stand on the ground and watch the "splat"! (maybe I'll watch from the 1st floor so I don't get covered in yucky stuff) :P

I do check out Blogrolls and visit blogs featured by bloggers I really admire - being on your blogroll is a real treat! :)

      Smiles coming your way!

  12. I've started compiling ideas for the challenge. Sometime in late February or into March, I'll start writing them. Some of them tickle me and I want to post them now. But, I'll resist the urge-it's important to show some self-discipline at least SOMEwhere.
Which is good because I want to eat that whole cheesecake in the fridge.

    1. Hi Al - it was through your blog, last year, that I found myself entering the Challenge, did you know that?
I love the way you think and your posts just crack me up!

I had a slice of cheesecake this evening - wanted more, but hey, some of us just handle temptation a whole lot better than others...rub, rub, rub!!! Awww...just kidding...I snuck a wee bit extra! But, fortunately (for me) I left the rest of it with my daughter...let her hips deal with it!!

Always good seeing you in my comment sections! Smiles at you!
